Update November 30, 2025

David returned to his apartment, Monday 11/24/25.

This was upon his own request. He feels he can get better appointed government services from his own home as opposed to doing so within an institution.

He cannot use his legs at this point in any capacity and relies on the wheel chair for mobility.

We are in the process of making his second floor apartment more wheel chair compatible. This is an undertaking indeed.

Help from different health providers was temporarily interrupted due to the Thanksgiving holidays. He is eager to resume securing the needed in home care on Monday, which will include prescriptions for needed medications and related products.

In home physical therapy is our next order of importance along with in home visits from the necessary services for personal hygiene and balanced meals etc.

We will work to disclose the expenses of these services as we discover their availability and insurance participation.

Greetings, my name is Christopher Holsman.

David Lawrence is my longtime friend and has called me in need of help.

He has had surgery on his back that has left him with partial paralysis in both legs. This will require extensive physical therapy in a group home setting with 24 hour assistance to recover full use of both legs.

He has government funded insurance that will not cover these services in their entirety, if at all?

We are looking to raise enough funds to insure approximately 3 months in such a facility that can offer the professional therapy to restore his ability to walk again.

David has an incredible story of resiliency and determination, thus overcoming some of life's greatest challenges and set backs. I have personally witnessed this myself in the 12+ years we have been friends.

It cannot go untold, he has no one to go to for help. His family circle is nonexistent, it includes only those of us in recovery. No others can he turn to! It is my honor and responsibility to respond with a helping hand.
