In efforts to ease the financial burden of funeral expenses on my Uncle David’s widow, I am asking for donations in memory of David King. Dave was born in Indiana, lived in Louisiana many years, and in 2013 he settled in Nashville, TN with his true love and best friend Ellen Doucet . He will be missed by family, friends and of course his dog-Chance.

Regardless of distance between us, I could feel my Uncle Dave’s fiery spirit and familiar sense of humor my father shares resonate through his phone calls. I always admired how close my uncles and father stayed with each other, spending probably every single night talking on the phone at least an hour or four. It was always a pleasant constant in the evening, hearing my father laugh and completely open up as soon as Dave calls, emotions jumping from annoyed and stressed to joyful and goofy, chuckling shaking the back porch, their calls always lightheartedly jovial and sometimes the nostalgia would jerk a tear. My dad lost his brother, his best friend, and my condolences go to his beautiful, loving wife Ellen as well as the rest of my family. Rest In Peace, Uncle Dave.
