Dear family and friends,
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the tragic death of David Hultquist (Dec. 1, 1959 – Dec. 12, 2020) due to CoVid-19.
Despite the family’s efforts to stay home and healthy, David, Rebecca, Olivia and Kristina got infected with this horrible, ugly, and devastating disease in November. While Kristina was thankfully asymptotic, the rest of the family was hit hard. Olivia was terribly ill, and Rebecca developed CoVid pneumonia. Both were taken to the ER via ambulances. On November 22, David was taken to the ER in an ambulance and was admitted to St. Joseph’s Hospital. What we didn’t know then or could have ever imagined, was that he would not make it home again.
While David fought for his life, God wanted to take him early. On December 12, David left this earth and went to be with God in Heaven. He passed away with his wife Rebecca, his 3 daughters-Victoria, Olivia and Kristina, and his sister Cheryl by his side. Our family is extremely grateful for the amazing doctors and nurses who cared for him at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Orange.
For those who knew David, they knew him as a hardworking provider, devoted husband, present and loving father, the best “bampa” to Scarlett, and a loyal friend.
As you can imagine, this unexpected and tragic loss has shattered and forever changed the Hultquist family’s lives. Rebecca and David’s 27th wedding anniversary passed while David was in the hospital. They found each other when Rebecca was just 21 years old. Victoria, David’s oldest daughter and mother of their first and only granddaughter, will miss making memories together. Olivia, David’s middle daughter, will not have her father to help plan her wedding or walk her down the aisle next summer. Kristina, who is 17 and David’s youngest daughter, still has high school to finish and college to save for. She will miss her dad being at her graduation.
How You Can Help
First of all, the family has been touched by the outpouring of love and condolences from family and friends. Thank you so much.
As you can imagine, the financial impact of this has also been devastating. We, therefore, respectfully ask for your donations in support of Rebecca and her girls. Every dollar matters and donations of any amount will be much appreciated!
While the Hultquists did not request this Gofundme, we felt that this would give everyone who loves the family the opportunity to show their love, support, and condolences, and also to share in the memory of David. We want the Hultquist girls to be able to grieve for David and not to worry about financials during a time like this. Your donations will go directly to the girls and will help them pay the outstanding medical bills, memorial costs and to get through this dark time.
David is being laid to rest on Monday, December 21st. Please keep his girls and family in your prayers to give them peace and clarity.
Hultquist girls- may you know how much you are loved during a time like this. Not everyone is able to be there to mourn with you in person, but know that we are all there in spirit crying right beside you. May His angels take charge over you and may you feel the love and comfort only He provides. We pray this in Jesus name, Amen.
On behalf of the Hultquist family, THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for your love and support! It means everything! Please stay healthy yourselves!
