Who am I?
My name is Davis Doss and I’m 58 years old living in Guangzhou China with cravings for Apple Pie and Southern fried Chicken, I was diagnosed with lung cancer or “squamous-cellcarcinoma of right bronchus or lung”. I just became a grandfather and would mean the whole world to me if I were able to get back to meet my granddaughter before I get too sick.
What’s going on?
Upon original diagnosis I was given chemotherapy. This helped stall the growth in my right lung but the doctors want to switch my medicine to PD1(programmed cell death protein 1). I’m told this is the new wonder drug, but it’s very expensive and for reasons beyond my understanding my insurance, which paid for the first six months of chemo, won’t cover the costs for the PD1 treatment. The cost is USD$ 11,709 for two treatments per month, of which I’ll need to take for a period of one year.
When do I need the funds?
Insurance has run out since August 2018 and I’ve been trying to raise money locally. During this time the doctors have told me I have an embolism(blot clot) near the two separate implantable ports they put in. It’s not near the heart at this time, but obviously time is of the essence on both fronts. As soon as I’m able to raise 11,709 USD I’ll be giving it straight to the doctor so I can start the first month of PD1 treatment.
I’m deeply grateful for anybody’s help, it really means a lot to me. If I’m able to get the first months treatment together I’ll be sure to keep you guys posted from this page, with some good news from the doctors here in China.
