“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” This quote by Nelson Mandela is one of the most famous sayings on the value of education. My dad was the first person in his family to attend college, and graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1971. He was the first person in his family to complete a post-secondary education program. His parents instilled the value of education in him at a young age, and helped to foster his love of learning. My dad continued to instill the value of education in the lives of his daughters, and fostered our love of learning. My dad came from very humble beginnings, and was always there to uplift and help when he could. This memorial scholarship is dedicated to helping his memory live on by providing financial support to students who attend Pittsburgh Westinghouse 6-12 in their educational journey. “To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
