David Gourley's Cancer Journey

Hi I am Georgina, David Gourley's Sister.

As some of you may know, my beloved brother David received a sudden and devastating diagnosis of metastatic cancer a couple of days ago. This has come as a huge shock to us all. He is undergoing multiple tests to get a clearer picture of his diagnosis and to understand where the cancer originated from. We anticipate treatment to start within the week.

While David remains hopeful, he has a long and challenging journey ahead. He lives in Melbourne, while our parents and I are based in Perth, making this time even more difficult for our family.

David is a 37-year-old single father to two beautiful young boys Bodhi and Elyjah who he shares custody of 50/50. Until now, he’s been working full-time to support them, but due to the demands of testing and treatment, he is currently unable to work and will unlikely be able to return to work anytime soon.

We are reaching out to ask for financial support to help cover David’s living expenses—such as rent and bills—during this time. We also hope to ensure he can access the best possible treatment and have the support of our mum and dad nearby as he goes through this incredibly tough period.
