While all of us were sleeping, in the very early hours of Saturday, May 9, David was in a tragic and devastating motorcycle accident. He was alone when it occurred and so many details are uncertain, but the one thing we know for sure is that this moment will change his life forever.
Right now, he is fighting for his life at Maricopa Trauma Center in Arizona. When the accident occurred, he was catapulted off of his bike and fell 100ft off an overpass to the ground. He and his bike were found over a hundred feet apart. The impact from the crash is unimaginable... almost every single bone broken with some exposed. The doctors, specialists and nurses are doing everything they can to save him against the odds and we are so extremely grateful.
Within the first 24 hours, he had multiple emergency surgeries to address complications from the crash including internal bleeding, swelling of the brain, compound fractures, and more. The surgeries have continued almost every day since the accident and they have more scheduled. In the meantime, David is in a coma on a ventilator and fighting to live.
There are so many things that are uncertain, but one thing we know is that he needs our help. His medical expenses are going to be astronomical with the amount of life saving procedures and care that he is requiring.
David will have a long road ahead for recovery and we all know even the best medical coverage won’t cover the costs involved for the surgeries and bills they are likely to accrue. The plan for these funds raised is to help assist them with anything needed to transition him to getting home whether it be equipment needed or in home care service and anything in between. Of course, it will also used for any medical bills it can cover.
At this devastatingly difficult time, we request your generosity in making a donation to aid and support his care. We earnestly hope that we can provide some measure of assurance and security for his future needs.
