Hi, my name is Jack and many of you may know my dad. Recently he has been diagnosed with throat cancer which has been a heavily heartbreaking experience for my family. To further worsen this experience we were notified that the cancer had spread to multiple lymph nodes in his neck. We have created this go fund me so that he can feel the support of everyone around as he doesn’t realise quite how well known he is. He is the most kind, caring and supportive person I have met and to see him go through this diagnosis and to come to terms with this has been very tough. I want him to see this support of others as not only the negative burdens of his diagnosis are affecting him but he also is feeling the pressure in a financial way. This is because he and my mum both worked before his diagnosis and now he can’t work as when he begins treatment he will be too vulnerable to work. My mum also can no longer work as she will become his carer through his journey as he will have a feeding tube inserted to aid his nutrition which will need to be monitored constantly as he will soon be unable to eat drink etc due to intense radiotherapy. The road to recovery consists of firstly three cycles of induction chemotherapy and then will move to radiotherapy as well as weekly chemotherapy. He will do 5 days a week of radiotherapy plus 1 chemotherapy session a week for an estimated 4 months. This will be a life changing journey and can potentially leave my dad with irreversible swallowing issues. Currently he is yet to begin treatment and that is why I have decided to create this go fund me now as I want him to feel the support of those who know him as I know this will help him through his journey. The donations you send will support him with financial worries as he is not only dad to me but my two brothers Luke and Harry as well. The donations will allow us to continue living life through this negativity. I know this may come as a shock to those who don’t know but we want you to know that my dad is a very positive person and has never once been negative regarding his chances of full recovery which shows as long as he is positive everyone around him can be and he will always be available for a talk to any of you that can’t come to terms with this. The target we have set is not a must as we don’t want to put pressure on anyone who may not be able to donate and we feel support can also be shown in many others ways such as sharing this go fund me to other people. Any donations we receive will be truly appreciated as we are a very humble family and we look forward to seeing this support from you grow.
