Honouring Daveberb: Helping Our Family Give Dave the Goodbye He Deserves

On October 13th, 2025, our family lost an extraordinary person — our brother, David Ian Barbour, known as Dave, Berb, or Daveberb, was taken from us far too soon at the age of 34. Dave had a heart bigger than anyone I’ve ever known. He could make anyone laugh, even on their worst days, and was always the first to lend a hand, even when he didn’t have much himself. His kindness, humour, and loyalty touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Losing Dave so suddenly has left our family heartbroken. We want to give him a meaningful celebration of life, but the unexpected costs of organizing it — as well as potential legal expenses — have been overwhelming.

This GoFundMe has been created to help cover memorial service and celebration of life expenses, as well as any necessary legal costs, and to give our family the space to grieve without the added stress of financial strain. Any donation — no matter the amount — will go directly toward honouring Dave and celebrating his life.
