Hello my name is Nicholas, I’m starting this fundraiser for my father David. He is a hard-working man & has held down the same job for the past 30 years. His job requires heavy lifting & the operation of machinery, as well as this he also plays in a band, & even though he very much loves every time he gets to play, the main reason for this is to earn enough money to make ends meet.

While my relationship with my father may not be the greatest, I still very much love this man. He works hard, he’s lived a clean & healthy life free from drugs or alcohol, he has a kind soul, & the only real reason for our strained relationship is because he’s always had a hard time finding free time for his family, but never really had a choice when it comes to his jobs & he did what he had to do to get by.

That all being said recently we received news that he had cancer spread from his tongue into his neck. This was a terrible shock for all of us. They let us know that it was aggressive & well at first they wanted to operate a little ways away, they decided it was best to operate as soon as possible. The process for the operation required that they remove half of his tongue, portions of his neck & lymph nodes, as well as grafting tissue from his arm, leg, & removal of blood vessels from those regions as well.

I went to see him for the first time today since the operation, which was yesterday. Sadly it was a horrific sight to see, tubes, stitch marks, large surgical wounds all about my father‘s body. The once happy bubbling kind man who works harder than anyone I know is now unable to work for anywhere between 4 to 6 months, & will have to go through physical therapy to learn how to talk properly again, as well as get his neck muscles in order. To make matters worse, his workplace which I will again stated he has worked out for 30 years, cannot provide him compensation for his medical leave for at least 90 days, which to me is absolutely ridiculous.

This state of affairs will leave my father without money for an indefinite amount of time, as well as owing debt for his various medical bills & procedures. Please find it in your hearts to help him get through this extremely difficult time as well as pay off his various medical expenses.
