Hi, Just so you know, Tracy had nothing to do with this!
We are reaching out to let you know that we are kicking off a campaign to help Dave, and we need your help.
As most of you know, Dave has had some medical issues recently. As a result, he has been unable to return to work and is continuing with medical treatment.
The strokes have brought changes that Dave wasn’t aware of. There’s something called anhedonia that he has a form of. The psychologist recommended further meetings to try and reverse some of these traits. Mainly the lack of joy & fulfillment from working on/completing things. His brain seems to say, “enough of that shit; let’s do something else that’s more fun.”
On September 6th, Dave got some news he wasn’t expecting. The PM&R doctor said he wouldn't recommend going back to work. At this point, Dave's short-term disability has run out. The doctor advised that he should just retire, but per Dave, "he doesn't make a doctor's wage." His union pension lost a ton of money and was frozen years ago. Dave is trying to focus on getting photographs ready for the exhibit that is coming up this month. Dave is a music lover and was listening to Peter Gabriel's “Don’t Give Up." Some of the lyrics hit home with Dave:
No fight left or so it seems
I am a man whose dreams have all deserted
Any donations would be greatly appreciated. Let's come together, right now and help this amazing man.
