                                        September 24th 1999- December 11th 2020


Our family lost our beloved David Anthony Bettancourt to a tragic car accident on the evening of  December 11th. David was a new father to his beautiful four month old daughter, Gabriella. He is survived by his daughter Gabriella, his girlfriend, Samantha, his mother Felicita Bettancourt, his father Joel Bettancourt, and his best friends and siblings Angel Santana, Michael Bettancourt and Jazmin Bettancourt.



David’s family were also his best friends. He spent the majority of his time with them going on adventures, watching movies and cooking family dinners together. David was a welder by trade,  a passionate skateboarder by choice and had recently become a father to a beautiful baby girl, Gabriela. When Gabriela was born in August, David's purpose in life transformed. He stepped into fatherhood naturally and welcomed the responsibility for caring for his daughter and her mother with so much joy and pride. He loved holding Gabriella, feeding and bathing her and was in complete awe with every new development and experience he shared with her as her father, like her first smile. David moved through life with positivity and good energy. He loved to make people laugh, especially his older sister Jazmin. He had a weakness for Oreo cookies and apple juice, loved funny movies and had recently begun watching the whole Harry Potter series which he was very excited about. David was a child at heart, a person who loved his family and loved life. His dream was to someday move to Santa Cruz, California and live a peaceful life by the ocean with his brand new little family. He was a good friend, loving father, wonderful son and deeply bonded and close with his siblings. David’s family are heartbroken and devastated by his death. The past few days have been difficult for us in coming to terms with this tragic and untimely loss and it’s been almost impossible for us to ground into the reality that he is gone. We are keeping each other strong and feeling grateful that we have baby Gabriella and her mother Samantha in our lives as a continuing  legacy of the love David brought to our lives. We know that this is a difficult time for many, but if you are able, we are asking for help for David’s family and his Daughter.
