Hello Friends and Family,
As we approach a significant milestone, our first anniversary on February 23rd, David and I find ourselves grappling with an unexpected challenge that has overshadowed our celebration. Recently, David was diagnosed with chordoma, a rare and cancerous tumor located at the base of his spine. This news came as a shock to us, especially since the discovery was made during an unrelated MRI scan.
Following this diagnosis, David's doctor has recommended the removal of his entire tailbone to address the tumor effectively. Consequently, David's recovery will be long and strenuous, requiring extensive therapy and adjustments to daily activities to facilitate healing.
In the face of this adversity, we have temporarily relocated from our home in Charlotte, NC, to New Jersey. This move brings us closer to both our family and the specialized medical team in New York that is overseeing David's treatment.
David has always been a source of light and joy in the lives of those around him. It's heartbreaking to see him go through such a challenging time. Our priority is to ensure that he receives the best possible care without the added burden of financial stress complicating this already difficult situation.
We are reaching out to ask for your support. Any donations received will be used to cover the various incidentals and travel expenses incurred from our back-and-forth trips between North Carolina and New York. Your contribution, no matter the size, will significantly ease the financial strain on our family during this time.
We are immensely grateful for the kind words, thoughts, and prayers that have been extended to us over the past few weeks. Your support has been a beacon of hope in these trying times.
For those who wish to learn more about Chordoma and its impact, we encourage you to visit the Chordoma Foundation website.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any assistance you can provide. Your generosity and kindness mean the world to us.
