David and Verla Smyth Family

Thanks for all of the generosity thus far. This is really going to help out with the expenses. Just getting Verla back to UT costs thousands of dollars. I haven’t been able to send individual “thank you” note to everyone. Thank you all! Verla’s funeral will be at 11am on Sat Nov 9. with a viewing at 9:30am. Location of viewing and funeral. 1176 N 730 E Pleasant Grove, UT I’m so sorry we need to update this so soon. Sweet Verla passed early this morning in Virginia. We’ll continue our campaign to help with bills and final expenses . David Smyth, our BYU Rugby coach, teammate, brother, friend, mentor, is dealing with major medical issues with his wife, Verla. Sweet Verla has been diagnosed with cancer for the 3rd time. David and Verla moved out to Virginia a few months ago for a new coaching adventure where they got the terrible news that she once again has cancer spread throughout her body. The prognosis is grave and we want to raise some money to ease some of the financial burdens Davey and his family will face.

We love Verla and are praying for her comfort. We love Dave, Andrea, Jill, and Gavin and along with prayers and notes of comfort, we would like to be able to help them in this terrible battle.

Give if you can. Spread the word to all of our rugby family. He and Verla have touched so many lives over the past 30 years, I'm sure we'll all love to help them now.

You all know Smitty will be very upset at the attention and won't want me doing this. I'm sorry, but we know that the financial burden can be overwhelming and we just want to help.

I don't know how much to raise. I don't know how much these situations cost. I just know I love the Smyth family and want to help them.
