Hello, my name is Melissa Key and as many of you have seen or heard from the newspaper, Facebook, or through the grapevine, my in-laws lost their home on June 12 in Jasper, Georgia to a devastating fire that consumed everything they had. Thankfully, no one was injured in the fire and all of the Animals have been accounted for.
David and Becky, with all of their sweat equity, personally built their place in 1988 from the ground up. They worked so hard and poured so much of themselves and their hearts into building this place. They were finally wanting to slow down and work on long awaited projects before the fire happened. It broke all of our hearts to see their place gone in just minutes.
on June 12 about 4:30 to 5 PM soon after David and Becky left to take the grandchildren on vacation, their neighbor alerted us that the home was on fire. Many of the neighbors reported hearing explosions soon after seeing smoke. The explosions consumed the place in a matter of minutes taking three generations of history in the home. David lost all of his tools that he needed and used daily to work. They lost all of their vehicles except for the one that they were in as well.
For those of you that know David and Becky, you know that they are kind, loving and hospitable. They have always taught me that life is about team effort and they are always right there to help when someone needs it. David and Becky truly know how to stay grounded and have been staying positive going through this process. Their transition is not going to be easy and my prayer is that this relief fund will help ease some of the challenges they will face moving forward and to help support them in rebuilding their lives (currently with purchasing gas, food, clothes, Shoes, tools and necessities that they immediately need).
Some people have asked how they can help so I hope this GoFundMe makes it easier to donate. If you would like to help in other ways please contact me and I will be glad to find other ways that you can help out.
Love,
