Familia and Friends of Maya Valdez and David (Oso Bear) Alvarez,
On Friday, October 19, Maya and David were in a car accident on their way home from a prenatal appointment. They were rear ended at high speed as they waited in traffic. Thankfully, a few good samaritans pulled them from their vehicle as it began to engulf in flames.
They were rushed to the hospital where they later learned their baby was unharmed.
Unfortunately, David and Maya suffered trauma to their bodies and are in tremendous pain. They also lost their vehicle and everything inside in the fire.
Over the next couple of weeks, as their bodies begin to heal, they will not be able to work and will have to seek legal counsel.
Maya and David are two very special people to us and our community. They give so much of themselves and never ask anything for return. We are hoping to raise as much funds to help them with the expenses they are incurring with this unfortunate accident in addition the the costs of bringing in their new baby into the world.
