My name is Emad Edward Rizk Abdou and I am collecting funds on behalf of my son, David Abdou.

On December 10, 2014, David got a brain hemorrhage due to AVM rupture , completed surgery and since that date he has been in a coma. Recently, he has been in a minimally conscious state (low awareness state).

The funds will cover his ongoing treatment not covered by OHIP/insurance which includes:

1- Special nutrition and private dietitian costs
2- Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy sessions (~80 sessions per year)
3- Neural Stem Cell Therapy in the United States (3 sessions per year) (Sept 2017 procedure was in Los Angeles, California)
4- Physiotherapy (as needed)

The funds raised will help cover the above costs during this journey to bring back David to his family and loved ones. The Neural Stem Cell Therapy with Hyperbaric Oxygen Sessions and Private Nutrition/Dietitian averages $95,000 per year.

The money raised will be deposited into a bank account created for his medical expenses, which I am responsible for.
