David Allen Wisniewski, age 59 of Bay City, MI passed away unexpectedly on May 7th, 2021. During his time of passing he was surrounded by his daughters and a close friend. He was born in Bay City, MI on April 4th, 1962 to Eugene and Vina (Huntley) Wisniewski, graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1980, and married his wife, June R. Wisnieski (Elliott) on December 30th, 1989 at St. Alban’s Epicopal Church.

He was employed at Supreme Floorcovering as a warehouse manager and installation scheduler for the past 23 years. David was a long time member of St. Alban’s and was heavily involved in the care of the church’s grounds, building upkeep and maintenance.

His hobbies were far and wide from rocking out to his favorite music, enjoying the scenic views of nature, watching the wildlife of his backyard such as deer and birds, and enjoying time with friends and family. Spending time with his grandchildren always put a huge smile on his face and turned him into a kid himself. He always stated that laughter was the best medicine, was great at reciting standup comedy, and had the air guitar mastered. While most called him Dave, his closest friends called him Ozzy or Wiz.

David left behind two daughters Alexis (Devin) Ortner and Courtney (Joshua) Songer; four grandchildren, David, Dustin, and Dylan Ortner and Renee Songer; his mother, Vina Wisniewski; four siblings, Duane (Dawn) Wisniewski, Pamela (Delbert) Harris, John (Laurie) Wisniewski, and Dawn Devericks; numerous nieces and nephews; and his close friends, Sandy (The Aussie) Hughes, Wayne (Captain Rock) and Kris Gotfryd, and Patricia Koch. David was preceded in death by his father Eugene C. Wisniewski and his wife June R. Wisniewski (Elliott).

Our story hasn't been an easy one in recent years. Just after Thanksgiving 2016 we lost our mother, June, to a serious heart attack while she and our father were visiting us in Virginia. At just 53, her death was unexpected and was unfortunately not planned for financially. My sister, Courtney, and I ultimately charged up our credit cards and spent what saving we did have for cremation and memorial expenses. Having been left so suddenly, not knowing what to do, and not having the guidance of a Will or financial assistance of life insurance; we were lost.

On Friday, May 7th, 2021 my sister and I had to make the difficult decision to remove our father, David, from life support. He had been sick for only a little while, but the underlying health issues lead to his inability to live on his own. We thought he had learned from the situation of our mother's passing, but unfortunately had not written a will and has very little set aside in savings. We are devastated and lost with our father's untimely and unexpected passing, and are having to cover these final expenses again by ourselves.

We ask that if you are able and have it in your hearts to give what you can. The money received will be used for funeral expenses, medical bills, and fees associated with figuring out the estate.
