There are no words to express the deep sense of loss that so many of us feel today. I don't know what else to do than pay tribute to the wonderful man Dave was and help raise funds for the beautiful family he leaves behind.
I first met Dave in 2011 at a CNA course which was a prerequisite for Nursing school. Dave stood out in the room as a confident, handsome, and kind man. He was easy to become friends with. He immediatley won me over with his humor. If you knew Dave, then you've probably laughed the hardest in your life with him. He was a proud family man. His eyes gleamed when he respectfully spoke of his beautfiul wife, Jannell, and his 5 darling children.
Our friendship grew as we both entered nursing school. I was a year ahead of Dave and would give him notes and whatever advice I could despite the fact that he was brilliant and needed only minimal words of encouragement from time to time. I graduated and found a great job with Promise Hospital and encouraged Dave to do the same. Dave was an instant rockstar as a nurse. In his first year of being an RN, he won the prestigious Florence Nightengale award, honoring him for his outstanding patient care and willingness to go above and beyond for his patients. He was never too busy to help out a co-worker. His work ethic was incredible. Knowing Dave was working gave everyone reasurrance that the shift would run smoother. He was loved and respected by everyone around him.
His passing has sent shockwaves throughout our community. We have lost a great man, nurse, husband, father, and friend. Please open up your hearts during this difficult time. The Christmas season is about giving to those who need us. Who needs us more than Jannell Webb and their 5 children? Please donate what you can. The proceeds will be delivered to Jannell by the new year. You know Dave would do the same for us. He will be remembered, revered and so greatly missed. We love you Dave.
