Dave Seeley's Medical Fund
In the blink of an eye, in the soft whisper of wind that brushes against your skin, your entire world can be changed, and the mortality we are all blindly aware of is brought forth in the most trying of ways. In one second you are looking forward to retirement, to fishing and traveling with your wife. In the next breath you are trying to comprehend the unexpected news that what you thought was a normal part of having epilepsy, has now become a realization of your own mortality.
What started out as a routine visit to the neurologist to perfom an MRI due to his having epilepsy for my Uncle David Seeley, would turn into a heartwrenching diagnosis of cancer. Not just your run of the mill cancer, no, this would be in the form of a brain tumor and the culprit would be glioblastoma melanoma, Stage 4. The most aggressive form of this cancer to which there is, unfortunately, no cure.
Let me take you back a step and introduce you to one of the most genuine men God created, my amazing uncle David Seely. Uncle Dave is a very kind, loving and caring man who is whole-heartdly dedicated to his family. His passion is fishing; his legacy is his tremendous heart.
Uncle Dave spent 3 years in the army before embarking on a 23 year career with Fluke where he met and married his lovely wife, Becky. Dave and Becky live in Langley, WA where they are the proud owners of a boxer named Olive and a blue and gold Macaw named Willie.
Uncle Dave has suffered with epilepsy for most of his life, so when he found out in March that he had a brain tumor, he was completely surprised. The doctors immediately removed the tumor and began testing for cancer. Several days after his surgery he was given the unfortunate news that his tumor was a cancer called glioblastoma.
Dave and Becky boldly sought out the expertise of an oncologist through the Cancer Care Alliance who informed them that his cancer was in stage 4 and very aggressive. The heartbreaking news rapidly spread to friends and family who flocked to their side to assist in any way possible.
As you can imagine, the news has been quite devastating for us all. As we try to find peace of mind and tranquility of heart, we reach out to you for assistance with David's medical/financial obligations in this time of confusion, hope and need. We also welcome your prayers and positive thoughts as we venture through this journey together and try to make our peace with what God has laid before us.
Our heartfelt gratitude to anyone who is able to donate to an amazing man who would do the same if the tables were turned.
