Dave’s recovery after being hit by impaired driver
On April 29th at around 9pm, Dave was on his way home on his beloved Harley Davidson Road Glide when the unimaginable happened. He was struck by a driver under the influence. After multiple flips in the air Dave landed on the shoulder of the freeway. Thank goodness a wonderful man named Frankie stopped to help and stay with Dave until the medics arrived. He was transported to the trauma center at Palomar Hospital in Escondido. His injuries include broken T-9 vertebra, multiple broken ribs, bilateral femur fractures, tibial plateau fracture and bilateral thumb fractures. Thank goodness he had on a great helmet.
Dave has already endured 2 major surgeries. Friday April 30 he had surgery to fix the femurs. They had to do a hip replacement to fix his right femur and repaired the left femur with a rod and pins. At this point he could not get up because of his broken back and they had to come up with a plan for his back.
Friday May 7th he had surgery to repair his broken back. Which was broken at T-9 so they fused with a rod on both sides from T6-T12.
As you know, the Henrikson's are an extraordinary family. They show up in one's time of need, now they need us to show up in their time of need. The funds will help with every day expenses for their family, hospital bills, and everything else that is needed for his road to recovery. We do not know how long his recovery will take but we do know it will be long, costly and difficult . Our plan is to help cover a few months of expenses to take the weight off the family even for a short while.
Please help us share this with as many people as we can.
With Sincerest Love
