Last week, tragedy struck one of the most selfless, spirited, and beloved members of our healthcare community. Dave, a veteran ICU nurse, and his wife Tina lost their home in a devastating fire. In moments, everything they owned was reduced to ashes. Thankfully, they and their sweet dog Elsa made it out safely—but they are now starting over with nothing.

Dave is not just any nurse. He is the heart of the ICU—a bright, tireless presence known for going the extra mile for his patients, his colleagues, and his community. He has a rare gift for forming deep, genuine connections with patients and families, comforting them during the hardest days of their lives. His energy fills a room, his joy is contagious, and his home has always been open—to coworkers without a place to go during the holidays, to friends in need, to anyone who could use a warm meal and a good laugh.

Now it’s our turn to show up for him.
