Dave's going to need a hat for the winter!!
Years & years ago I made the decision that when the time came for me to say goodbye to my hair, a charity was going to benefit from the event. I've had long hair for quite a while, and the last time I had 'short' hair was last century!
Earlier this year, my daughter Erin had a large growth successfully removed (along with an ovary) and this was confirmed as cancerous. Back then I made a deal with her that if she lost her hair through treatment then I would shave my own too.
Under monitoring since then, recently some smaller tumours have appeared and the decision was made to begin chemotherapy. At the time of starting this page, Erin is currently in hospital receiving her first round of chemo and it is expected that her hair will begin to fall out over the course of the next month.
So, here we are. I have not put a specific date on when this will be take place - it's up to Erin when that happens.
The charity which will benefit from this is Southampton Hospital Charity. The Piam Brown Ward @ Southampton General Hospital is where Erin is receiving her care:
