In February Dave was diagnosed with esophageal cancer, stage 3. He completed a regime of Chemo and radiation and after testing it was time for surgery (June 27). On the day of the big surgery, the doctors completed the first part of the surgery, did a biopsy of the questionable node and unfortunately , it came back positive, so they were not able do the esophogectomy. Two days after the first surgery Dave began bleeding internally and was then rushed back into surgery where he then spent three days in the ICU before heading back to a step down room where he remained for the rest of his stay. Dave returned home on Sunday July 8 where he  continues to recover with weekly visits and blood draws from nurses in his home, occupational therapy, and doctor visits. Dave will need to continue chemo and radiation when he has healed completely from this surgery and will continue to have numerous medical bills and expenses.
