Dave's Medical Fund for Kittens

This campaign originally started to raise money to help the amazing shelter we foster through, Sante D'Or Foundation, cover the medical costs for our foster kitten Lilly. She became seriously ill in July 2015 and required hospitalization, but thankfully she made a full recovery and went to her forever home with her sisterJames. Unfortunately, our next batch of foster kittens, the Non-Gilmores, as we call them, had a couple big health problems. We took in Paris, Dean, Dave, Jess, and Lane when they were two weeks old.
Lane, the runt of the litter, is completely blind due to congenital glaucoma. She had to see a veterinary opthalmologist for diagnosis and treatment. She'll get drops every day of her life so long as they keep the glaucoma under control, but eventually she will need eye surgery. The good news is that Lane and her sister Jess both have a forever home waiting for them, as soon as they are old enough.
The bad news, sadly, is that Lane and Jess's sweet and playful brother Dave developed calicivirus when they were five weeks old. It turned out to be a very serious bout of the illness, and he died after fighting for five days. We are devastated.
All of this kitten care costs a lot of money which thankfully doesn't come out of our pockets - but it is covered by Sante D'Or. Every single litter we've fostered so far has had some sort of health issue - from VicVixen having a kitten cold to Mork and Alf having eye problems to the more expensive problems that Lilly, Lane, and Dave ended up with.
We would like to help Sante D'Or out with these costs not in the least as a thank you for their continuing dedication to animals that many other shelters would give up on. In order to put something positive into the world as a result of losing Dave, we're going to keep this fund going as long as we possibly can, and use it to raise money for Sante D'Or whenever they have a kitten in need.

The care these kittens have required didn't come cheap. Sante D'Or was there for us and all of our fosters every step of the way - financially and emotionally! Sante D'Or is a no-kill shelter that has a fair number of cats and kittens with special medical needs, but they always do what is best for each animal regardless of the financial aspect. This is why we work with them and why we feel it is really important for us to try to get them a little extra money for the special care they give their animals.
If you can give anything at all, it will go to a very good cause.
