Help Dave Fight Cancer with Strength and Hope

Hi, my name is Jay Wing, and I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of Dave, my brother who has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer in his neck, mouth, and jaw area. Dave has lived in North Carolina for the past 9-10 years with his girlfriend and their 10-year-old son. Back in November, he and his girlfriend broke up. Dave keeps in constant communication with his son, who is the world to him.

In February, Dave was let go from his job. Struggling to find a new job, he noticed swelling on his neck. With no insurance, it was difficult to get any real tests. After multiple biopsies came back inconclusive with no answer or direction on what was going on, it started becoming difficult to open his mouth as the tumor was clamping his jaw down. Dave moved back from North Carolina last month to be closer to family. He met with a panel of doctors here in NH, and the biopsy results came back as Stage 4 cancer.

The tumor has woven around the jaw and muscles so badly that he's unable to open his mouth to eat. He's on a liquid diet right now, with talks about a feeding tube being placed. He received more devastating news yesterday: he has to have all his teeth pulled. The disease in his jawbone won't retain his teeth during chemo and radiation, which could cause major infection.

Having lost his job and not being able to interview, he doesn't qualify for unemployment. He's been approved for Medicaid so he can start scheduling appointments. He found an oral surgeon that accepts Medicaid and was able to schedule an appointment to remove his teeth on 7/9/25. Once the teeth are removed, he'll have chemo and radiation, 5 days a week for 7 weeks.

Even with Medicaid, the out-of-pocket costs are piling up. Funds raised here will go directly toward:

Chemotherapy & radiation treatments

Medications not covered by insurance

Travel to and from treatment centers

Living expenses while Dave is unable to work
