Dave Sorrells fight against Liver Cancer

My name is David Corpron. I have worked with Dave Sorrells for 15 years at Savage.

Dave is the guy you call when you have a problem. He is always willing to jump in and help you solve it.

He has spent 43 years at Savage, mentoring leaders and teaching technical skills related to all types of trucks and trailers. Dave takes a great deal of pride in the work he does and loves to share his knowledge and help those around him.

Earlier this spring, Dave thought allergies were making him itch, so he went to the Doctor to see what could be done.

As Dave waited for his appointment, his family and friends began seeing his skin get a slight yellow tint. After seeing several doctors, they found a growth in his liver. A biopsy was performed, and the words no one wants to hear were uttered. Dave has cancer. Dave was fortunate that he was able to get into the Huntsman Cancer Institute for treatment. Currently, he is undergoing chemo treatments and will look at surgical options when these sessions are completed.

Dave would never ask for help from his friends, so I'm doing this on his behalf.

• Let’s help pay for the trips (gas & food) from Price to Salt Lake City that are needed for his treatments

• Help with the cost of hotel stays as treatments begin at 7 am and require him to stay for monitoring after each one before going back home later that day.

• Let's help our friend, coworker, or neighbor out with finishing a few home improvement projects around the house that he no longer has the energy to complete. These include installing some fencing and building a deck that was removed before all of this began.

Please consider joining me in raising funds for the treatment and completing a few projects. Also, if you want to donate time working on projects around the house, we will be setting up a time to do that in July, after we have raised some money and can have material on hand for the work.
