Dave Parkes - 4x4x48 challenge

Hi Everyone!

My name is Dave Parkes and on the 30th of June I will be taking on the 4x4x48 challenge by David Goggins.

This challenge is made up of running 4 Miles (6.4kms) every 4 hours for 48 hours, meaning by the end of my 48 hours I will run 48 miles (77.2kms)

I am going to complete this challenge to raise money and awareness for Menslink, a local Canberra charity very close to my heart that provides support for young guys through counselling, mentoring and education programs. Being involved and working with Menslink for nearly 4 years, I have seen first hand the benefits of what we provide and how important it is which is why when I decided to do this challenge I was thrilled with the idea of raising money for them at the same time.

I started working out 4 years ago and as I started to learn in the gym and set myself goals, I started to see my mindset change on what I thought I could accomplish and achieve. The more I achieved the better I felt about myself and I started thinking bigger and more positive in what I could accomplish both physically and mentally. I could not have done this without the support of those around me, guiding and helping me.

This is why I want to challenge myself both physically and mentally with this challenge but I also would love people to come and support a leg of the journey and run/walk 4 miles with me! If you are interested please feel free to reach out and come along (dogs also very welcome).
