Hi, my name is Megan. I have known Dave Keller since high school. My youngest brother has disabilities, so Dave always reminded me of him. I hadn't seen Dave for many years but ran into him a few years ago working at the Home Depot near my house. He now also has a physical disability, so I offered to give him rides directly to the FrontRunner train instead of taking two buses to get there.
I've gotten to know Dave much better and learned a lot about his life.
- Dave's parents were immigrants and are both deceased. In many ways, Dave is alone in this world.
- Dave is a member of the LDS church, and a woman in his ward who played the organ at Temple Square taught him to play the large organ now at the conference center.
- In my opinion, Dave is mentally aged 13-17.
- Dave is high-functioning enough to fall through the cracks in the system, which is why he needs our help.
- Dave needs a place to live by the end of the month. He can use donations to continue staying at the hotel, but needs a more long-term solution.
- Dave is on the list for housing but is not approved yet, and we don’t know when that will happen—more details to come.
Please let me know if you have any information or leads that would help.
I am dedicated to helping Dave find a safe place to live and take care of any needs he might have.
Thank you for anything you can contribute!!!!
It is much appreciated!!!
