Dave Morgan's Interment Services
Donation protected
Friends & Family,
Well, I think Dave would hate this whole fundraiser thing and if we’re being honest, I kind of hate it too, but here we are.
Our hearts have been shattered this week as Dave passed away on December 8th, 2020. His addiction was something he struggled with since 2016, but he had been struggling with the weight of the world since our father unexpectedly passed in 2008. It’s no secret that Dave was fighting a silent war. He would do whatever it took to make others laugh and crack a smile, while putting his own head and heart on the back burner.
I’m going to go out on a limb and say that most people in their 20s do not have a savings fund for funeral expenses, but it should be something that everyone should consider. In my own opinion, the cost of services should be illegal, but that’s neither here nor there. The costs of Dave’s services are as follows:
· Care and Preparation: $1,390
· Funeral Home Service Fee: $705
· Transportation: $1,165
· 30-minute viewing for 10 family members: $295
· Cremation: $390
· Interment fee: $795
· Marker/monument: $1,700+
· Marker installation: $200
· Urn Vault: $770
· Process Fee: $125
The grand total comes out to $7,555 without any formal gathering services or the bells and whistles that are typically associated with funerals. I am grateful for my grandparents, Robert and Jennifer Morgan, for providing burial property for Dave to be laid to rest next to our father at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens (which was not originally purchased for Dave).
Reid and I are responsible for first bill, $3,945, by December 16th, 2020. The remaining $3,610 will be due once we schedule the interment in 2021, once more than 20 people are allowed to attend. In lieu of flowers or gifts, we ask that you consider donating to help cover the costs of Dave’s services.
With love,
Katie Morgan
