Up until a few months ago, David McNair was probably the longest and oldest practicing, professional full time tattoo artist in Chicago. He learned to tattoo in 1986 at The Chicago Tattooing Co. and has been working ever since. That is, up until a few months ago. He developed this devastating tremor in both hands that has prevented David from doing the work he loves and of course, providing an income.
He has been living on his savings and they are rapidly depleting. David has always worked with his hands. For many years before and during his time as a tattoo artist, David worked as a high rise window washer working downtown Chicago outside 80 stories in the air cleaning windows. He also worked for many years on a barge sailing up and down the canals in Illinois.
As a result of the tremors and lack of work, David has been under a great deal of pressure and has become severely over-stressed. So far, medical treatments have done nothing to relieve this stress or the tremors of his hands so David can go back to his one and only job, the art of tattooing.
Dave is in need of our assistance. In tattooing, there are no sick days or paid vacations, so without the ability to work, Dave's savings are dwindling and we want to ensure he is supported and not having to worry at 69 years of age if he will have stable housing and enough money to stay afloat.
We are holding a flash event to help David with his mounting bills. All proceeds will 100% go to David. With your donation, David can be sure that he as well as his roommate are safe and warm in his home in Chicago and not on the streets.
So, now would be a great time to get that tattoo or piercing that you've been wanting and helping out a dedicated, man of the art, to pay some of his mounting expenses.
We genuinely thank you for your donation.
