Dave Kaplan Memorial Service
Donation protected
It's with great sadness that I (Aaron Kaplan) have to bring this to everyone. My best friend, my mentor, my father, passed away on 5/8/2019. It was a unexpected heart attack, with no signs or warnings. No one anticipated this happening.
He was greatly loved and admired by everyone close to him. He touched so many hearts and lives in our community, that our family would like to put forth a large public memorial.
Therefore we are setting this up to help offset the cost for David Kaplan's Memorial Services and cremation costs. My mother has been battling cancer for her third time and simply cannot afford event costs. We would like to reach out to all who may be willing to assist.
Most of the proceeds are helping for cremation (approx. $2500) The remaining proceeds are for the memorial service itself (food and venue). My father was very optimistic and had no plan on leaving us so soon. He had not had time to put aside funds for such a thing.
David Kaplan was the pillar of the Kaplan family. He could fix any problem, any object, any broken heart. He fixed everything! Supported us all while doing this. My father had so many talents that it seems impossible to list them all. Music was just one great passion of his. His nights with the band seemed to always be one of his favorite things to do. I will forever be reminded of his musical talent, intellectual conversations, infectious laugh, and some of his almost mad scientist like creations. A man who truly earned every ounce of love and respect. He taught me (and others) so many things, and everything I needed to succeed. Including the most important parts of being a father.
My mother(Carla Kaplan) who has had a rough bout with her 3rd string of cancer, had relied on him for everything these past years. There was only one thing my father was terrible at.... giving up. He was 10x persistent. I watched him not move from his computer, until he absorbed every bit of information on the planet about my mothers illness. A true knight in shinning armor. She has since been surrounded by love from all who share our grief, and is taking good care of herself while resting as much as possible. Times like these it really shows how people love each other. I'd like to thank everyone for that.
My father lives on through us all, and we would like to celebrate that. All of our family thanks you greatly for your support! From all of us - Carla Kaplan(Wife), Aaron Kaplan(Son), Garrett Kaplan(Son), Valerie Foster(Daughter),Mason Kaplan(Grandson), Ivan Kaplan(Grandson) Charisma Renna(Granddaughter), Aiden Foster(Grandson), Liam Foster(Grandson), Polly Iyer(Sister), Matthew Iyer(Nephew), Daniel Iyer(Nephew).
