- Update! Dave has the flu and it is not the same for him. He is on high flow O2 and many drugs again. We need prayers and he needs to know that he needs to keep fighting. He is weak and tired, but is getting good care in ICU.
- Dave finally has gotten his new intestines and kidney. Although he is suffering the effects of a very strenuous surgery he is over the moon and so optimistic about the future. Here he is watching the PGA with his son Chris only two days after surgery. Cleveland Clinic has been amazing but with costs nearing one million it gets tough for us. As you can imagine the funds are running dry. I want to thank everyone for their generous contributions and know that the money will hopefully get Dave his life back into his old life.

Hello,
We are Dave and Gail Harvey (Cleo & Tucker), full time residents of a Cal-Am Property in Gold Canyon, Arizona, Canyon Vistas and Superstition Views. This is a call for HELP none of us ever know we are going to need before we need it. Those of you who already know us know we are humbled, before we even start this urgent process of SAVING DAVE’S LIFE - and ask for your support.
Dave and I Work Camped at CV/SV as the FIRST Décor/Tables and Chairs Team (following our work camping at VVV). Dave has been a vital and active Community contributor during the peak Season and beyond, supporting all Fundraising efforts, Team Sport Tournaments and more, as Work-Campers and now as full time Volunteering Patio Home Owners.
Ten years ago, when Dave was diagnosed with Crohn’s, a chronic inflammatory bowel Disease that affects the lining of the intestinal tract, we could not have imagined that it would cause such complications. Dave was so VITAL, full of life, and happily working as a local part-time groundskeeper. Although he had various operations for obstructions and other related issues that come with having an intestinal inflammation disease over the past ten years, it was not predictable that the last obstruction would be the one that rendered the small intestines (he had an ileostomy/colostomy he had learned to live with after removal of his colon and large intestines) unusable and a complete failure. Now we find ourselves FIGHTING FOR DAVE’S LIFE - his ONLY OPTION for long term SURVIVAL is an INTESTINAL TRANSPLANT.
Only a few Doctor’s in the USA perform this serious, expensive, and lifesaving operation (200 people are waiting on the active transplant list). The Cleveland Clinic in Ohio has accepted Dave for a Transplant and will move him up the list, due to his current inability to tolerate the necessary intravenous nutrition (TPN) to survive.
All of this has lead us here, asking our family, friends, neighbor’s, acquaintances and friends of friends to help us accomplish SAVING DAVE’S LIFE. We wish time were not of the essence, but life dictates that and the time to act is now. Anything you can find in your hearts to help, we know we are asking a lot and would not be asking if it wasn’t imperative to save his otherwise healthy, and vital LIFE. Let us all show Dave he is not only LOVED, Needed, Important, but how GENEROUS we all are, especially for one of our own Community Family, as he is anxious to not only dream about being a Pickleball tournament linesman again, but fighting to LIVE IT.
Dave has been in a hospital since end of October, 2022, LET’S BRING HIM HOME TO LIVE HIS LIFE WITH QUALITY and time with his Family and Loved One’s.
