Dave Hanson's Celebration of Life
Donation protected
Written by Donny Hanson (Dave's Son):
This time of year is known for spending time with family and the ones you love most. Unexpectedly, I lost my dad on November 11 of this year.
If you ever got an ice cream cone from Bojo's in the middle of a Napa summer or enjoyed any of the other splendors of the old Steele Park Resort, there's a good chance you knew Dave Hanson. My dad is often described as always smiling and as a person who cared more for others than himself. Even if this big, bad security man had to reprimand you, he did so with love.
My dad was an amazing man. Even though he came in to my life when I was only 10 years old and he had to deal with me through all my unruly teenage years, Dave still managed to give me the greatest gift I could ever have asked for. He adopted me and made me and my mom a part of his life forever.
In order to pay homage to a man who would never ask for anything in return, I need your help. The money raised by this GoFundMe will be used to help with the costs of both cremation as well as the Celebration of Life for my dad. Anything you're able to donate would be an honor. Please help share and get the word out.
Thank you all very much.

Update: November 21, 2018
In less than 24 hours since this campaign opened, we have hit our $1,200 goal and exceeded it.
This means more than you all know. The huge out pour of love and support that we have received is just incredible. I cannot thank you all enough.
The $1,200 goal was set in mind of just the rental costs for the hall itself for 60 people and the cremation costs. From here on out, all of the funding will now be used towards really bringing Dave's character to his Celebration of Life. We will also look into trying to double the amount of friends and family that can attend the event as more funding should be able to also bring that in.
Again, thank you all for everything. Please help continue to share and get the word out. We really appreciate it.

Update: November 22, 2018
In less than 48 hours, we've just hit over $1,500.
I truly don't believe my dad realized the love and fondness that so many people had for him. While he was always a man of little words, I know this would have blown him away.
Just about 3 months ago I had gotten married. Needless to say, I wasn't sure I was going to be able to give my dad the proper Celebration of Life that he deserved as the cost of the wedding is still bring paid off. With everyone's kindness and outreach, I know that's possible now and I can't thank all of you enough.
Happy Thanksgiving. May you be spending it with the ones you love.

Update: November 25, 2018
As some may have noticed, we have upped the goal to $2000 as unforeseen expenses have arisen (such as obituary costs and making sure there will be enough room for close family and friends to take part in the Celebration). Though it is still uncomfortable for us to ask for even more help, we would appreciate any further sharing or donations.
Thank you again to everyone for the consistent reach out and love.
