Dave Dumaine Medical Assistance

Hi all, my name is Steve Scanlon, and I am setting up this fundraiser for my good friend Dave Dumaine to help pay expenses related to his medical issues.

Dave has had a lot of health complications over the last few years, but he hasn't shared with most just how serious they are. Also, due to a lapse of medical insurance, he has unpaid medical bills due to his inability to work because of his health issues.

He needs to have heart valve replacement surgery to replace the valve he had put in in 2014 because the first valve has developed complications. The blood thinners he is required to take for his mechanical valve is causing him to bleed out due to another health issue called GAVE disease. This is a medical condition where blood vessels in his stomach rupture and bleed. This would be a life-saving surgery for him. They need to replace the mechanical valve with a bovine vale as this will allow him to come off of blood thinners that are contributing to his bleeding.

On top of that, his only chance of survival is to get to a hospital in Tampa which is 70 miles away, and his truck is broken down and needs repairs which he cannot afford. This is his only means of transportation to get the medical attention he needs.

Dave has done a great deal of work in youth ministry and been a messenger of God’s love. He has touched so many lives through his retreat programs at both his retreat house in Vermont as well as across all New England.
