At 9:27am Thursday January 14, a fire destroyed everything in Dave Drake's apartment. Dave was not home at the time.  Kona (dog) and Toonses (cat) made it out alive; Casey the white shepherd did not survive. 

Dave was able to salvage a few clothes and a few bottles of bourbon. Everything else was destroyed. Dave watched as the firemen shoveled the ashen remains of his belongings out the second story window.

Dave is staying with a friend for the moment. He cannot return to the apartment complex. 

He will need funds immediately for food, pet food, rent, and to replace clothing, toiletries, and, eventually, furniture.  He also needs to pay off the $2,500 in vet bills.
