Dave Cummine - Fight Against Cancer

Good day one and all, family and friends have initiated a fund raising campaign in efforts to raise money for our good friend Dave Cummine to help cover his medical expenses associated with his cancer treatment.

Last fall, Dave had a sore throat that didn’t go away. He went to his doctor and was diagnosed with oropharyngeal carcinoma in December of last year. Surgery to remove the tumor would have included removing a large portion of his tongue. Understandably, not the best solution. Instead, he opted for an aggressive treatment consisting of radiation to his throat 5 days a week and chemotherapy once a week for a total of 6 weeks. Extensive dental work was required before he could start treatment to prevent possible infection which could lead to losing a portion of his jaw.

This last week of his cancer battle has been brutal. Dave ended up in the hospital. He’s not able to eat, talk, or swallow without pain. A feeding tube had to be inserted so he could get the nourishment he needs to fight. Once he leaves the hospital, he will still need the feeding tube, for how long we don’t know and the formula is very expensive. His bills for medications, dental work, feeding tubes, formula, etc. are mounting.

We would like to raise money to help Dave with medical expenses. One less thing for him to worry about and let him focus on getting healthy again!

It’s going to be a very long recovery.

Dave’s a great son, brother, uncle, friend, musician, bandmate and our family would appreciate any help you can offer to get him through this difficult period.
