Dave Burmester: A Legacy of Love and Art

Our dad, Dave Burmester, dedicated his life to building community, inspiring creativity, and uplifting others. As a beloved teacher at Davis High School, the founding Artistic Director of Acme Theatre Company, and a leader in the local chapter of St. Vincent de Paul, Dave touched countless lives—on stage, in classrooms, and throughout our community.

Now, we invite you to help us honor him with one final production: a Celebration of Life held in one of his favorite creative homes, the Veterans Memorial Theatre. This event will be a reunion of the many lives he impacted, a tribute to his creative spirit, and a joyful evening filled with stories, laughter, and love.

Funds raised will go toward creating a celebration befitting Dave’s legacy—supporting the arts, community building, and the creative traditions he held so dear. From the venue to refreshments, decorations, and all the elements that will make this gathering truly special, your contributions will help us honor his memory in a way that reflects the passion and generosity he shared with all of us. Donations beyond our fundraising goal will go to the St Vincent de Paul Society and Acme Theater Company.
