Help Dave Benson recover from major back surgery

Hi, I'm Dave's son Brandon. Our family is hoping to help Dave financially recover from a major back surgery.

He was just released from the hospital after 14 days. He's now recovering at home with the help of outpatient nurses and physical therapists. The surgeon recommended he stay home from work for two months to heal, but missing that much work is not an option financially.

Dave is not the type to ask for help, in fact - he said he'd kill us if we did this. But it's important to our family to try to help him because we know he would go beyond his means to help us, a friend, a stranger - anyone that needed it. If you know Dave, you know he's one of the most generous and selfless people around.

It's hard to predict exactly how much he's going to have to pay out of pocket while the insurance company is still sorting through all the services, but even just between the three weeks of work he's already missed, the copays, and the prescription costs he's amassed thus far - he's already in a very difficult position. We really don't want to see the financial pressure cause him to rush his recovery and make his medical problems worse.

Whatever we're able to raise will be used to help cover his medical expenses, as well as some of the regular expenses he's behind on due to missing work.
