Dave and Tammy Schuman

As many of you know Dave has had many medical issues for the past 12 years. He hasn't had an easy road at all. Back in 2008 he was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Addison's Disease. During this time Dave still worked and did the best he could to make it through all the pain. He then decided that the best choice for him was to move to Texas in 2013 for work. He worked for a year but then his life was turned upside down. He went in to check on some pain he had in his stomach and to find out why he was blacking out. Turns out his colon had ruptured. Had he waited any longer he wouldn’t be here with us. They ended up having to take over half his colon and over half of his large intestine. During this period Dave started losing weight, and he got down to 170lbs. This is when Dave and Tammy’s horrible medical bill journey began.  Dave was no longer able to work, so Tammy started working and doing what she could to support herself and Dave, but the medical hardships just kept coming. He has been in and out of the hospital for several medical reasons. Unfortunately, now Tammy hasn’t been able to work because she has to take care of Dave. The past couple of months have been astonishingly difficult on the both of them. Dave was admitted to the hospital in Oklahoma because of some new found blood clots in his lungs and legs. Once he was released and able to make it back to Colorado he was unfortunately admitted into the hospital again, but this time for pneumonia. Dave is so strong and we thought the problem was solved after that. Until he went to a Pulmonary Specialist, and they found the road is going to be even longer. His diaphragm is crushing his lungs and his heart has a hole in it, which is causing him to gain a lot of weight. They are going to have to go in and open up Dave’s diaphragm. As most would know or assume this is going to cause even more financial burden on Tammy and Dave as they will have to do the surgery in Denver or Salt Lake; travel cost, hotel, food, and even more in medical billing. Dave and Tammy have stayed silent about their medical journey because they don’t want the attention. But I am asking that if you find it in your heart to help them out it would truly be a blessing for Tammy and Dave as they continue to face these hardships head on.
