Dave and Jen Gustafson

Dave and Jen Gustafson have been taking care of people their entire professional life. But the onset of COVID-19 has brought unbelievable heartache and hardships on this loving couple and their two girls, Nicole and Erin. Dave, a property inspector and firefighter for Golden Valley and a firefighter with Robbinsdale and Jen, a health unit coordinator at North Memorial Hospital have both been infected with COVID-19. Jen was dealing with a diagnosis at the same time as Dave. Dave had to spend 50 days in the hospital with half that time on a ventilator - dealing with near-death situations several times during his stay. And this was just a few years after fighting leukemia! During this time, Jennifer’s 89-year old mother, Carol Wilson, died overnight after she was diagnosed with the virus, herself. Although Dave is now home, he is trying to recover enough to resume treatments for cancer of his kidney.
