Dave and Heather McQuinn's Fundraiser

For those of you who have met David and Heather McQuinn, you'll know two things: First, that they are two kind, thoughtful and wonderful people. Second, that this lovely couple has been suffering greatly over the past several months.

On May 3rd, David was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, an aggressive type of cancer in the form of a malignant brain tumour that grows and spreads rapidly.

David has fought an exhausting battle over the summer, following traditional medical treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation. Sadly, this has only resulted in more swelling of the brain and further progression of the cancer.

David and Heather have decided to pursue alternative medical treatment outside of Canada, as they believe it to be their best option. Unfortunately, alternative cancer treatments are often extremely costly, and therefore far less available to many sufferers.

As many of you might know either first hand, or from your own experiences in caring for a loved one with an illness...the physical suffering is only one part of the hardship. The emotional and mental distress that follow such a life upheaval takes a heavy toll. This entire thing has been trying enough for David and Heather without the additional stress of medical costs, but now it is yet another issue for them to contend with.

Any contribution that you might feel moved to give would be deeply appreciated, and will fund the ongoing fight of these kindhearted people who have endured so much but are not ready to back down.

The hope is to raise funds for alternative medical care, and for any other type of comfort to help David in these desperate days.
