Medical bills - Dave Adamson

Just wanted to do an update on Dave’s status. He went back to the hospital last week January 13, 2023 to have his other leg amputated due to continued complications with diabetes and arterial disease. He has also suffered several strokes and has an infection that they can’t seem to pinpoint. He’s currently in the Billings hospital.

We are hopeful that he will be able to go to Sheridan again for additional rehabilitation after being released from the hospital. All of this is such a huge financial burden for my parents, who are on Social Security as their only income. Irene has had to quit her job to be able to take care of him full-time. Any money donated is automatically transferred straight into their checking account so that they can pay for hotel bills, gas, and medical bills. Their medical bills are now at over $1 million.

I am Dave's daughter Renee, I'm hoping with this fundraiser we aide my parents in paying the co-pays and bills Associated with my dad being in the hospital since 9 May.

My dad has been through so much in the last few months. After being misdiagnosed by the Butte hospital we finally ended up in Billings where they had to remove his foot to save his life.

He got to come home for a little bit, due to an infection on the bone had to go back to the hospital for another surgery. He's currently in an skilled nursing hospital in Sheridan, MT. They think that he will be there for another 60 -90 days while  his stump heals. He's excited to be on the mend and be independent again.

When I think about who my dad is and means to this world, it's truly humbling. To some of you he is a brother, a cousin, a uncle, a friend, a neighbor. But to me he is the stellar example of who a father and a man should be. He is the best man I know, and simply stated he is one of a kind.

The goal with this fundraiser is to raise money to help them pay the medical co-pays, and their credit card bill. Medical expense to date are cresting 1 million dollars. ThankfuIly He does have amazing insurance. But % they owe in co-pays, and the month and a half spent in hotels has put their credit card to the limit. As a daughter I wish I was in the position to be able to just write a check for them. So we're asking for your help!

He is in great spirits under the circumstances. He's having to relearn a whole new way to live and be independent. He's working daily to improve his physical strength so he can be fitted for a prosthetic leg. So he can get back to his life. He's made the statement "its not much fun being a one legged cowboy!
