Hi, my name is Leilani Flannagin, and I’m creating this GoFundMe to ask for support for our family during an incredibly unexpected and emotional time.

Our sweet baby girl, Davanee James Kroslack—lovingly called DJ—was born on Christmas Day at 8:51 PM, weighing 9 lbs and 19 inches long, via an emergency classical C-section. While her birth was a miracle in itself, DJ is currently in the NICU, where she continues to receive specialized care.

During my pregnancy, I was first diagnosed with hydrocephalus, which later was changed to alobar holoprosencephaly, the most severe form of Holoprosencephaly. This is a rare congenital brain condition where the forebrain does not properly divide, often leading to significant developmental and medical challenges. We were told there was a strong possibility that DJ would not survive.

But she did.

DJ beat the odds and came into this world stronger than anyone ever expected.

Because of DJ’s medical needs, we are spending as much time as possible by her side in the NICU. This has made it very difficult for us to work, but being present for our daughter is our top priority. We are currently driving back and forth daily because we cannot afford to stay close to the hospital long-term. I also make these trips to bring breast milk for DJ, as she does not tolerate formula and relies on pumped milk.

Between:

• Daily transportation costs

• Meals and basic necessities while at the hospital

• Baby-related needs and unexpected expenses for DJ

the financial burden has quickly added up.

We are beyond grateful that Davanee (DJ) is here and fighting, and we feel incredibly blessed despite the challenges we are facing. Any donation will help relieve some of the financial stress so we can focus on what truly matters—being with DJ and supporting her every step of the way.
