Support the FIGHT for Caylee and Chandler Powell

Our kids, Caylee and Chandler Powell, are expecting! What we weren’t expecting was what seemed like severe morning sickness to turn out to be an egg-sized brain tumor.

A simple CT scan after Caylee passed out in the shower, opened a fresh wound of fear. North Florida worked quickly to transfer Caylee to Shands Neuromedicine. An Mri was ordered and the results were unfavorable.

Consultations compete, Surgery was scheduled

for May 31st. While the operation went as the Neurosurgeon expected, there is another mass on the right side of Caylee’s brain and remnants from the left side tumor remain. The Neurosurgeon confirmed the tumor is a malignant glioma and Caylee will undergo radiation, chemo or both. Pathology with determine the stage and type and the Oncologist will recommend treatment.

Caylee and baby have a challenging road ahead. Our goal is to take as much burden off of Chandler and stand in the gap for the family, financially. Chandler will be off work for the time being while Caylee requires 24-hour care. Not to mention the medical bills that will begin arriving.

We remain hopeful and encouraged by the excellent medical team at Shands Hospital and we know Jesus is the Great Physician. There is no affliction he can not heal!
