Our daughter Kari was diagnosed a few years ago with a brain disorder - Chiari Malformation.  Before her diagnosis she was a vibrant, active, motivated and determined young woman  with a good job in the legal field who supported her two children on her own.  The decompression surgery was in August, 2015 and seemed to be successful for about 8 months.  Then suddenly the severe pain, the dizziness, the episodes, and all the Chiari related symptoms came back with a vengeance.  Her doctors ran test after test and could not find the reason for her returning problems.   During this time her former husband came back into her life and then suddenly determined he can't be the emotional support she needs to deal with this condition and he disappeared again in December, 2016,   She has never been well enough to return to work and now her only source of income is Social Security disability.   Her married daughter who is expecting her own first child has had to move back into the home to help with her mother's care, the costs of running the household and getting her brother graduated from high school.  

Friday, April 7, 2017 the neorosurgeon has to go back in to attempt to determine what is causing the ongoing issues and to remove any scar tissue that may have built up altering the flow of Cerebral Spinal Fluid throughout the brain and the brain stem.   We as a family have all done what we can financially to help.  We don't know what the outcome will be.  This surgery could help her immensely or it could be completely unsuccessful.  

The problem is Kari only has shared cost Medicade and will have to come up with funds to pay the hospital for the care she will need after. We have no idea how much any of this is going to cost we just know that we need any help we can get to defray the unexpected expenses.   We appreciate any help and prayers for our daughter and her children during this time.  Thank you.
