For those yet unaware, it is with broken hearts that we share the devastating news of our mother’s passing on Wednesday morning. After a courageous fight in the ICU for a week, she succumbed to complications from liver failure. Our mother was the cornerstone of our family, a loving soul who touched the lives of everyone she met.

When we initially created this GoFundMe, we were holding onto hope, desperately raising $450,000 for her liver transplant. We are forever grateful to those who contributed and supported us during that difficult time. Unfortunately, our prayers for her recovery went unanswered, and we are now faced with the unimaginable reality of life without her.

We have updated this fundraiser to $15,000 to cover the costs of her celebration of life and, most importantly, to assist us in navigating the financial challenges ahead. Our mother was more than just our mom—she was our best friend, our rock, and the breadwinner of our family. With her passing, we’ve not only lost her unconditional love and support, but also the financial stability she provided.

Our mother contributed to about half of our living expenses in our shared home. Without her, we are unable to sustain our current living situation. However, our lease is not up until July, leaving us in a bind as we work to find a more affordable place to live while covering rent and other expenses in the meantime.

We are writing this on behalf of our incredible mom, Tammy Marshall, who has been the heart and soul of our family and an inspiration to everyone who knows her. Recently, our lives were turned upside down when we learned that she urgently needs a liver transplant. This news came out of nowhere, with no warning, and we are racing against time to save her life.

Our mom is the most selfless, caring, and charitable person we have ever known. She has always put others before herself—whether it was volunteering in our community, helping a neighbor in need, or being the rock of support for friends and family. She’s the type of person who gives without expecting anything in return, and now, we find ourselves in the humbling position of asking for help to give her the chance she deserves.

The cost of a liver transplant, including pre- and post-operative care, is staggering—around $850,000 without insurance. To ensure she gets the care she needs and to cover unforeseen expenses, we are setting our fundraising goal at $450,000.

We know this is a significant amount, but every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to saving her life.
