Daughters phone stolen in McDonalds at lunchtime
Donation protected
Hi my name is Dan and my daughter is Mariah who is 16.
On the 10th February 2025, Mariah was on a lunch break from college and went to McDonalds with her friend on Oxford Street London.
When she got her food and sat down, two woman walked in handing out leaflets and I always taught how to be street wise so her phone was hidden in the bottom of her bag. The two woman then approached my daughter and her friend and one held my daughter down while the other went through her bag and took her phone. The phone she save up for ages for and was so proud to have saved for it.
No one helped, even though it would of been busy. McDonalds let her down with not being able to show a duty of care, security and no after care. After speaking with McDonalds today they have only offered her £20 voucher to return????
Two things I wish -
1 - I wish I was there when it happened!!
2 - I wish I could pop out straight away to get her a like for like but sadly cannot afford it.
This beats me seeing her so upset as all teenagers have their life on their phone and I don't want to let her down.
Any help towards a phone would be so appreciated and if we hit target, I will help someone else to pay forward.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart xxx
