Daughter Lost To Fentanyl -Medical & Funeral Cost

Donation protected
Hi, My name is Bryon Veal. We are asking for support to help us recover financially from the loss of our daughter Claire, "Eden" Veal, on September 25, 2022. Her unexpected passing rushed us into a whirlwind of expenses for her funeral and burial. These expenses culminate on top of numerous medical bills associated with her high level of care over the years.

Our daughter struggled with addiction and eating disorders. She missed her entire high school experience going from one hospital program to another in an attempt to heal. Still, she lost her fight to an accidental overdose of highly potent fentanyl.

We need approx. $9,500 for past medical bills after already paying several thousand dollars for her care. Additionally, we are asking for support of $4,500 for a gravestone to reflect her life.

Eden was a true friend to other patients she met in the hospital. She provided many with love and support while fighting for her normalcy in life. Eden had worked the same job for several months, participated in a partial hospitalization program, and looked forward to her plans for a brighter future. She often befriended those in need, providing attention and support. Her laugh was boisterous and contagious.

Eden was born and raised in Colorado. She loved the mountains and traveled all over the southwest. She experienced the Great Eclipse with me in 2017 and gradually adapted to our new home in Virginia following our pandemic move.

  • Ironically, at the time of her passing, she was the happiest she had been in a long time. She knew true love in a partner who laughed at her corny fashion style, sense of humor, and witty conversation. She was loved by her two sisters, whom she was very protective of, and she loved cuddling with her dogs. She was a natural singer, and no doubt is singing with angels.

Your help to help us recover financially on what we still owe, and an appropriate headstone, will be greatly appreciated. We want to honor our daughter and be lifted from the financial burden of this tragedy. We greatly appreciate your time in reading about our daughter. Fentanyl claimed Eden at the age of 17, and we are not alone. The sorrow we feel is immeasurable, but we will never forget Claire. She will live in our hearts forever.
