Hello everyone. My name is Claudio Quattrone. I am 33 years old and a young Animation Filmmaker from Calabria, a region in southern Italy. For more than three years, I've been developing the animated film called DATTILO.

It is inspired by the Pentedattilo village we have in Calabria.

Did you google it? If you take a look at Pentedattilo, I am sure you will be amazed! And, if you like classic-style animated films, imagine converting the entire place to a cartoon.

So, this is exactly what we're trying to get! :D

I've been working in Animation for more than 8 years as a 2D Animator, having the opportunity to collaborate with huge companies such as Disney, Warner Bros, Netflix, RAI, and so on, taking part in television series, animated music videos, and short and feature films you may probably love, as the Disney movie 'Disenchanted', or the Warner Bros. ones as 'Space Jam: a New Legacy" or the Christmas special "Merry Little Batman ".

The "Ghost" town Pentedattilo is characterized by the massive Hand-shaped Mountain (in Greek "Pente" means Five, and "Dattilo" means Fingers). It is currently abandoned and not used except for conferences, presentations, festivals, or weddings.

Pentedattilo is about 20 minutes close to my home in Reggio Calabria (South of Italy). I knew Pentedattilo when I was a child, and I used to visit it with the scout group.

Even my wife, the first time she visited Calabria, told me that the best place she had the opportunity to see was Pentedattilo. Three years later, our wedding was celebrated exactly there, last August 2023, in the little old church in the center of the village :)

Our journey so far

Throughout DATTILO's development until now, I have had the wonderful occasion to collaborate with splendid talents, who are still helping and supporting me to make this dream come true.

We spent so many several years writing down the Script, designing Concept Art and character development, and 3D Environment construction.

We decided to create a medieval aesthetic, trying to turn on the time machine and transport the audience to the golden epoch of the village.

Right now the Pre-production stage is finished, and the Animation team has currently finalized the first 1'40'' promotional Teaser for the film, which we've been working on since the beginning of 2022. WE launched it in August 2024 to let you see the hard work that our efforts have made in almost three years.

The Story

The Story of DATTILO talks about friendship, an unrequited love, and the ability to do the right thing. If you've ever fallen in love in adolescence with your best friend, then been rejected because "you are just a friend to me", I can promise this movie is for you and, hopefully, for everyone who can overcome a situation like this.

Accepting the idea that your feelings are put on the back burner for the benefit of someone else turns out to be the moral of this story. Put yourself in the shoes of those you love, understand the feelings of others, and face the fear of being alone.

All set up within a fairy village, whose nature is invigorated and cultivated by the love of the people who, by marrying through the power of the Mountain of the town, fuel its prosperity by making the plants grow, the fields flourish again, or the crops bear fruit. trees in a balanced and cyclical renewal of the ecosystem.

What We Need & What You Get

At the moment, with the finalization of the promotional Teaser, our goal is to use it to try to find a Production or Company that would like to invest in our project. And, while we will continue the research, we would like to publish and post our art, trying to let you all appreciate it and compose a minimum budget for the project.
